Celebrating 36 years in the Chestnut Hill community! Since 1991, our camp home has been located on the 14-acre campus of Norwood-Fontbonne Academy in Chestnut Hill, PA. The campus features state-of-the-art, indoor and outdoor facilities and provides the perfect setting for our camps. The extensive indoor and outdoor facilities allow us to offer our unique blend of activities, sports, and special events throughout the summer, rain or shine. From the moment you first arrive, you’ll feel the genuine passion, warmth, and friendliness of our staff… and it permeates throughout the campus every day of the summer!

The pristine campus of Norwood-Fontbonne Academy is transformed into the ultimate summer playground! Safe and fun environments, with state-of-the-art facilities create fun-filled camp experiences, and the perfect setting to LEARN and GROW all summer long.
Swimming is one of the most exciting parts of the camp day. Under the guidance and watchful eye of our American Red Cross-certified lifeguards and instructors, campers develop life skills too valuable to measure while learning how to swim confidently in a safe and fun environment.
Over 60+ activities, special events and inspiring time-honored traditions are woven into the fabric of our camp life. From sports, arts, science, engineering and technology to life skills and leadership, ESF makes sure that our programs are innovative and impactful, summer after summer.
The fun and learning continue with ESF’s Club OT extended day program. Campers are divided into groups by age and enjoy specialized activities including sports, games, crafts, book club, drama, and more. Afternoon snacks and refreshments are provided.
Hi, my name is Steven Strauser, and I am the Site Director for ESF Camps at Norwood-Fontbonne Academy. Summer of 2026 will be my second summer as a Site Director with ESF Camps. I bring a strong background in leadership, training, and operations, with a passion for building high-performing teams and creating meaningful experiences. I graduated from Penn State University with a bachelor’s degree in organizational leadership and earned my MBA from Eastern University. My career is centered on developing people, modeling servant leadership, and developing long lasting relationships.
Outside of ESF, I enjoy fly fishing, golfing, reading, and staying active at the gym. Throughout my life, I’ve had the opportunity to live in Philadelphia, New York City, and Los Angeles, each of which shaped my appreciation for diverse people, ideas, and experiences. Overall, my life’s calling is to help people get to where they are trying to go.
