Health & Safety

ADVANCED SAFETY PLAN™

A tremendous collaboration of research and expert medical input went into the creation of our Advanced Safety Plan®. This Plan exceeds recommendations by the CDC, ACA, NIH, and AAP, as well as local and state agencies. which is why for more than 40 years, ESF has been considered one of the safest camps in the U.S. We successfully returned to in-person operations in Summer 2021, serving more than 5,000 families. We will continue to adjust our plan if needed to meet recommended guidelines and requirements as we get closer to the 2022 summer camp season. Below please find ESF’s 6 POINT SYSTEM. We are confident that our in-person camp experiences will continue to be chock-full of enrichment opportunities that are action-packed and FUN!

HEALTH FORMS

For the health and safety of all campers and staff, we require medical clearances, signed by a physician or health care practitioner, as well as updated immunization records for all campers prior to their first day of camp.

FOOD ALLERGY POLICY

Campers with Food Allergies: Campers with food allergies will be unable to participate in our optional lunch program since our food service provider cannot guarantee meals or snacks that are peanut-free, tree-nut free, free from other common food allergens (dairy, soy, wheat, sesame, shellfish, etc.) or free from any cross-contamination.

Snack Option: Campers with food allergies must bring their own snacks to camp. For your camper’s safety, snacks can be managed by our camp nurse.

CELL PHONES & ELECTRONIC DEVICES POLICY

Campers and ESF team members are not permitted to bring cell phones or electronic/web-linked devices to camp as they are a distraction. To promote a healthy camp environment we ask the following:

  • Please leave cell phones and electronic devices at home.
  • If you have an urgent message for your child, we ask that you call the camp office at 203.869.4444. We will relay any information to your child immediately.
  • ESF is not responsible for what happens to any devices if brought to camp.

Our goal is to create a safe environment, conducive to discovery, and free of all distractions that may hinder the learning process and joy of camp. Thank you for your continued support and cooperation.
