ESF Insider – March Celebrating Women’s History Month

Introducing Max Joy!

The phrase “MAX JOY” refers to the strong desire to live and thrive in life. It’s used to talk about people who absolutely love life.

Living the MAX JOY lifestyle is an ideology, an attitude, a way of life. For more than 41 years, ESF has been grounded with individuals who are dedicated to maximizing their own enjoyment as well as other people’s enjoyment in everyday life.

Living the MAX JOY lifestyle is not about wanting more joy in your life, it is about living the life you always imagined one memory at a time. It’s a high quality experience, moment, or person that sparkles and shines.

We enlisted the help of award winning artist Stormyfuego, who spent a lot of time and worked very hard to create a design for us that not only looks good but evokes an emotional response of what MAX JOY means to us.

“Stormyfuego struck a chord for us on so many different levels and this exciting design is way above the ordinary and run of the mill design”, says ESF Executive Director Michael Rouse.

In this issue of The Insider, Meet the Women of ESF that power our potential and fuel our future. They each have shared a word or phrase that describes their MAX JOY. What is your MAX JOY?

Meet the New Women of ESF: Welcome to the Team!

Brooke Barron

Position at ESF: Pro Team Sports Camps Customer Engagement Representative
Fun Fact: I am a former Phillies Ballgirl.
Favorite Camp Tradition: Making new friends!
Female Role Model: My female role model is my mom, Denise. Throughout my life, she made everything look so easy and still does. She has always been my voice of reason, my shoulder to cry on, and the person I can always go to for a good laugh. She always made sure my sister and I grew up to be strong women.
Hobbies: My hobbies outside of work are learning how to do calligraphy and hanging out with my nephews and niece.
Superpower I Wish I had: I wish I could read minds!

Ashley Smink

Position at ESF: Customer Engagement Representative
Fun Fact: I have two dogs, a lab named Mabel and a great dane named Mac.
Favorite Camp Tradition: Watching the campers grow throughout the years.
Female Role Model: Caroline Doty because she inspired me during my basketball career. I would watch her games, tapes, study how she worked out just so I could be a better player myself. She also taught me that an injury is a minor setback and a major comeback!
Hobbies: Coaching basketball and going to the gym.
Superpower I Wish I had: I would say teleporting. To be able to snap my fingers and go places seems awesome. Imagine waking up one day in Philadelphia, snapping your fingers and waking up in Disney World the next day!
