Over the past 42 years, hundreds of thousands of ESF alumni and families have gone on to make tremendous impacts within their communities and all around the world. This month we are so proud and excited to feature Allison Gold Russel who serves as a perfect example of an individual whose experience at ESF led to lifelong impact. Allison, a former ESF Camper and Lifeguard, is now the driving force behind Gold Celebrations, a company specializing in Wedding Coordination Services catering to the Philadelphia region. This summer, we had the wonderful opportunity to reconnect with her and hear a bit about her time at ESF and what she is up to now!

Allison mentioned that ESF holds deep significance in her and her family’s life. Her mother once worked under ESF CEO Michael Rouse, Allison herself was an aquatics instructor at Haverford in 2005, and now her daughter, Eden, finds herself immersed in the camp experience at Norwood. Allison conveyed her confidence that from the moment she drops Eden off at the carline to the afternoon pick-up, her daughter is in a secure environment, forging friendships, and, above all, relishing in the pure joy of childhood – more specifically stating, “ESF is a place where Eden will meet people outside of school and where she is encouraged to learn new things.”

A point of pride for her, Allison is also a devoted mother to two daughters. Beyond her business endeavors, Allison holds certification as a yoga instructor, with a focus on pre and post-natal yoga classes.
