Five Stars for Dinostars!

07.14.2017

Day Camp traveled back in time this week to prepare for their Prehistoric Variety Show, DINOSTARS!  Camp was buzzing with anticipation as campers dug up the past and prepared for the show all week.  In Jr. Quest, campers learned about different types of dinosaurs like the apatosaurus, t-Rex, pterodactyl, triceratops and more!  But dinosaurs weren’t the only thing they learned about.  Campers spent time in Project Discovery talking about rocks, volcanoes and crystals which have been on the Earth since the dinosaurs roamed.  They made their own pet rocks, caused volcanoes to erupt and even made crystals form.

In Art, campers crafted their very own props for their camp show  today. Tribes created props varying from dinosaur cuffs and masks to fire breathers.  With their artwork complete, they were ready to perform dressed to the nines.  Nerves built as parents and siblings gathered in the auditorium with high expectations.  Finally the lights dimmed and it was time for the show to begin.

It was a hit!  The show went off without a hitch and the campers hard work did not go unnoticed.  Each tribe perfected and performed their own song to represent a dinosaur they had learned about earlier in the week.  Of course no song is complete without dancing to go along with it.  Campers had the audience smiling, laughing and clapping along.  Thanks to all the friends who visited campus for our show today.  We can’t wait to do it again for our Disney Show in Week 9.  Have a good weekend campers!
