Meet Our Site Director: Suzanne Stachowicz

ESF FEEDS PASSIONS AND
POWERS SUPERHERO POTENTIAL!

Hi, my name is Suzanne Stachowicz and I am the Site Director for ESF at Haverford. 2026 will be my 15th summer with ESF and my 3rd summer as Site Director. I began working at ESF after earning my education degree at West Chester University as a mini camp counselor and then a performing arts specialist at Haverford in the summer.  After teaching for over a decade, I then started working on the year round ESF executive team running the after school enrichment programs at Haverford School while also hiring team members for our Pennsylvania region.  I have been teaching dance for over 25 years at the same studio I learned to dance.  The arts have always been a passion of mine along with my love for animals. I still enjoy dancing, painting, and of course rescuing animals when I can.  My biggest joy is watching our campers discover their passions throughout the summer and getting to be a part of that!

  • What do you love about working at ESF?
I really enjoy the sense of community that is shared at ESF between the families and the Team, and the long lasting memories that are made.
  • What is your favorite camp tradition?
My favorite tradition at ESF is definitely the spirit stick in Jr. Camp.   Seeing the joy and positivity it brings each day is amazing.

  • What is an ESF fun fact about you?
I love being part of the Executive Team Fun Squad Committee. We bring fun, happiness, and community to the office year round.
  • What is the most unique/interesting job you have had outside of ESF?
My very first job I was a lifeguard at a campground.
  • What is your favorite quote?
“The best thing to hold onto in this life is each other.” – Audrey Hepburn

  • What is one of your guilty pleasures?
Going to Disney as much as possible!

  • If you could have any superpower, what would it be?
I would definitely want to talk to animals!
