Launching Rockets

This week in Major Camp’s Space and Rocketry campers are learning how to make some awesome inventions! Today campers are learning about the concepts of gravity, inertia, trajectory and Newtons Law of motion. After designing their rockets, campers got together in teams to discuss questions and their hypotheses before launching them off the launch pad. “Who’s designs looked different?” “What materials could create drag or make the rocket too light?” “What are your predictions?”

After discussions campers got busy testing out their rockets on the launch pad aiming for a blue bin! Check out the video to see how the campers launch their straw rockets!

Throughout the week campers will be discussing more on space and creating water and CO₂ rockets to test out. By the end of the week campers will have learned about the concepts behind building rockets and the solar system!
