Weekly Activities
Archery Skills
Develop archery skills while enhancing hand-eye coordination, building upper body strength and discovering the thrill of hitting the target.
Community Outreach
This initiative is designed to provide an opportunity for campers to engage in planning and implementing a meaningful service-learning project.
Daily Swimming
Cool off under the guidance and supervision of Red Cross-certified instructors and lifeguards. Choose recreational swim or an instructional program customized for any skill level.
Fencing
Learn the history, skills, strategies, and safety techniques of this exciting medieval sport including positions, footwork, attacks and defense.
Gaga
Campers sprint to the Gaga courts for this action-packed, fast-paced and popular ball game. Fun for all skill levels.
Leadership Training
Through various leadership, service, and mentoring experiences at camp, our oldest campers have the opportunity to grow as leaders, develop verbal communication and interpersonal skills, be positive role models and create meaningful ways to give back to their community.
Martial Arts
Learn techniques and strategies including movement, agility, form, balance, coordination and self-defense.
Senior Quest
Collaborate, communicate and problem-solve during high-energy challenges, fun team initiatives and service learning projects.
Sports
Practice sportsmanship and teamwork while playing various sports including soccer, basketball, baseball, track & field, street hockey, flag football, tee-ball, wiffle ball and Gaga. With fun weekly tournaments and recreational games, the action is at an all-time high!
Arts & Crafts
Campers paint, paste, collage and more while making puppets, masks, crazy glasses and photo frames, among other imaginative creations.
Camp Features
True Life Adventure Electives
The True Life Adventures start here- with a day that begins with team challenges and ends with a dance party! Where campers create masterpieces in art, play sports, swim, and learn. With leadership skills and good citizenship built into everything we do. This is no ordinary camp.
Special Events and Theme Days
Campers participate in a wide variety of Special Events and theme-related games and activities, including the highly-anticipated Camp Carnival, Ultimate ESF Games and The Oracle Games. Campers will get colorfully creative in weekly Wacky Wednesdays and Fantastic Friday events.
The Oracle: A Time-Honored Tradition
Founded in the tradition of the ancients, the Senior Camp Oracle is a source of wisdom and a guide to the truth. In the true spirit of teamwork and community, the Oracle represents senior campers’ respect, leadership, dedication and effort as they collaborate on different activities all week long. Each morning, Senior Camp’s official Town Council votes for the group who has demonstrated these characteristics as well as good deeds and random acts of kindness. Proudly carrying the Oracle is a Senior Camp group’s greatest responsibility as they are charged with spreading the importance of respect throughout camp.
Senior Town
Senior Town is where Senior Campers begin and end each day. It is the home of Town Meetings each Friday, daily assemblies and various themed events. It is here that the bond of friendships new and old are celebrated as we welcome campers in the morning and wish fond farewells at the end of the day.
The Mark Awards
At the Town Meetings on Fridays, deserving senior campers are awarded with the distinguished Mark Award. The Mark Award is given to campers who were “caught” exemplifying ESF’s Core Values throughout the week. These campers are recognized for guiding younger campers, being an example in integrity, going the extra mile, performing random acts of kindness and being a positive influence. Senior campers can achieve six different Mark awards representing the following values: Respect, Teamwork, Leadership, Dedication, Spirit and Effort.
Ultimate ESF Games
This highly anticipated ESF tradition and week-long competition features various camp wide competitions and events as well as various opportunities for both BLUE and GREEN competitors to earn points for their team. Who will claim victory for their color this camp season?
